Seven-Card Stud Introduction
Seven-Card Stud is a poker variation that will really test your memory. In the 80s this was perhaps the most popular poker form but since then it has been surpassed by Texas Hold'em. Seven-Card is normally played with fixed limits but a pot-limit structure is sometimes used.
The object of Seven-Card Stud is to form the best possible poker hand using the seven cards you are dealt. No community cards are used in this game but four of the ones you get are face-up and open for everyone to see. There are no fixed positions in Seven-Card Stud; the betting order in the five rounds is determined by the value of the players' face up cards.
